Booking a Test
How do I book a test?
- IELTS (General or Academic)
Test results are available electronically after 13 calendar days (5 – 7 days for computer-delivered IELTS). Many testing centres around the world and tests generally held weekly.
Cost approximately AUD$340.

Test results are available after 15 business days. Tests dates every month, however, registration is only open for the next two dates at a time.
Cost is approximately AUD$590.

Test results are available after 10 business days. Test centres located throughout the world and tests generally run weekly.
Cost approximately AUD450, however, will vary if you take the test overseas.

Results typically available within 5 business days. Test centres located throughout the world and tests run weekly.
Cost approximately AUD340, however, will vary if you take the test overseas.

Results available after 2 weeks online and after 4 weeks via post.

Some testing centres are providing versions of their tests that you can take at home, such as TOEFL iBT – Special Home Edition, OET@Home and IELTS Indicator. The Department do not currently accept these tests and you must do one of the ones as listed above.
Can I repeat the test?
There is no limit on how many times you can sit an English test.
How long are the tests valid for?
English test results are generally valid for 3 years for immigration purposes.
English test results are only valid for 12 months, for immigration purposes, if you are applying as a secondary applicant.
