Priority Processing Requests

By 4 September 2018August 19th, 2020No Comments

While Ajuria Lawyers makes every effort to accommodate genuine requests for priority processing, the Department of Home Affairs frequently reminds immigration lawyers and agents that requests for priority processing should kept to an absolute minimum. Moreover, because of the high level of requests, the Department has advised that current arrangements will be reviewed in the coming months.

The best way to ensure that an application is accorded priority processing is to lodge a full and complete application under the sponsorship of an employer with “accredited status”. It is no longer suitable only for high volume users of the TSS program; guidelines have been relaxed to encourage low volume users too, to become accredited.

The difference in processing time is approximately 2-3 weeks for a sponsor with accredited status, and approximately 4-5 months for a standard sponsor.

Ajuria Lawyers is working closely with all of our clients to review their eligibility for accredited status to ensure that priority processing is available to every eligible sponsor.
